The Sinner Season 3 trailer brings back Bill Pullman's Harry Ambrose who investigates a fatal crash

Detective Harry Ambrose is back and he’s investigating a fatal car accident in the first trailer for Season 3 of USA Network’s The Sinner.

The crime anthology series starring Bill Pullman follows a different crime each season.

As the new trailer reveals, the new installment features Matt Bomer as a mysterious man named Jamie.

The trailer opens with a shot of a car seen crashed into a tree at night, with Ambrose saying in voice over, ‘Car accident that proved fatal,’ as he’s seen getting out of his own car at the scene of the crime.

When Ambrose asks, ‘What happened,’ with the new character Jamie saying ‘I don’t know,’ with a gash on his forehead.

Jamie adds that they ‘lost traction’ and the next thing they knew, ‘we were just thrown, upside down, every direction,’ as we see the car tumbling down the road.

Ambrose adds that, ‘his story, it felt like there was something else going on, as Jamie seems to have trouble getting back to his life again.

The acquaintance reveals during his sophomore year, Jamie started hanging out with a guy named Nick Haas (Chris Messina), who is seen at dinner with Jamie and his wife, as Nick cryptically says, ‘Should I tell her?’

An angry Jamie tells him, ‘Don’t play this game with me,’ but Nick responds, ‘It’s too easy,’ revealing he clearly has some sort of control over Jamie.

Ambrose says he wants to know why Jamie and Nick were on a woman’s property, with the woman saying, ‘I don’t even know their names.’

Nick is also see cryptically telling Jamie that they are going to do things differently this time, as Jamie tells Ambrose that Nick is, ‘capable of anything.’

There is also a cryptic shot of Jamie seemingly getting ready to step in front of a bus and end his own life along with a number of quick-cut shots including one where Jamie and Nick are standing on the roof of a building. 

The trailer ends with Jamie telling Ambrose that he’s not crazy, and he’s not different than he is. 

The Sinner Season 3 premieres February 6 at 9 PM ET on USA Network.
